KYOTO MATERIAL YARD – Open Days

A project to circulate materials generated during artistic creation and presentation: “KYOTO MATERIAL YARD”.

We are currently holding open days on an irregular basis, during which we accept material drop-offs and pick-ups (including scrap and offcuts).

Just looking around is also welcome!
Feel free to consult us about collecting materials or ways to utilize scraps and surplus items.

Time｜11:00–16:00
Venue (Reception)｜Kyoto Art Center, near the entrance
No reservation required for drop-offs or pick-ups in general

✅About bringing in materials
・Please bring the items directly on the day.
However, if you plan to bring large or long items requiring transport by truck, please contact us via email (kyotomaterialyard(at)gmail.com) by the day before with details on the type and size (weight) of the material.
・Vehicle drop-offs are allowed, but long-term parking is not permitted.
・You will be asked to fill in a consent form with your contact information on the day.
・We will issue exchange tickets based on weight (5kg = 5MY; for under 5kg, 3MY). These tickets can be used for picking up materials.
・We cannot purchase materials.
・Materials once provided cannot be returned.
・Items we cannot accept: food, living creatures, items requiring temperature/humidity control, industrial waste, hazardous items, and materials that are difficult to decompose or reuse.

✅About taking out materials
・You will be asked to fill in a consent form with your contact information on the day.
・We kindly ask for a donation to KYOTO MATERIAL YARD, based on the weight and type of materials (voluntary).
・If you have exchange tickets from previous material donations, you can use them.
・Materials may only be taken out for use in creative activities (including planned projects).
・There is no parking lot. If you are picking up or transporting items by car, please use nearby parking facilities.
