A story of a tap studio
Everything is trivial but vital

Brooklyn-based Tina Satter is a promising playwright in NY contemporary theater. Named a New York Times Critics Pick in her 30’s, Tina is the artistic director of the theater company “Half Straddle” and brings the company’s recent critically acclaimed show, House of Dance to Kyoto Experiment 2014.
At a small town tap studio, four dancers and their instructor prepare for a competition while struggling through their everyday lives and relationships.
They are neither stars nor particularly talented. It is a story about their mundane and naïve lives. Despite their yearnings for success in the big city, their reality – hope being unfulfilled and in vain, is depicted with irony. The very prosy dialogue and outstanding tap performance delivered by its extraordinary actors are a must see. Titillating, cryptic yet quotidian, this show is true to our real life experience.
